- a step of faith -

The introduction to the Way of faith began at Kildonan Presbyterian Church (Winnipeg). The Rev. Brian Penny had donated his time and invited boys and girls to a youth group. The place was the historical Nesbitt Hall with the old stone walls from the 1850s. This memorable event was a well-meaning way of sharing the gospel message to us teenagers. So at the age of 13, was inspired with a desire to study the Bible (Revised Standard Version), which my grandmother had given to me. "The Lord, your God, is in your midst, a warrior who gives victory; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will renew you in his love; he will exult over you with loud singing" (Zephaniah 3:17). Several years later, I was introduced to a Spirit-filled walk of faith at a non-denominational church. The date of my baptism is April 2, 1972 at Faith Temple with Pastor Ingrid Bergner, a prophetess. This was a Jesus People (born-again) anointing of love. More recently, a gratitude to Greg Laurie and Ellen Vaughn for "Jesus Revolution" (BakerBooks) about the organic expression: an eye-witness account from those days.
